It’s not every day that Disney announces an entirely new name for an existing theme park, but that is what is happening at Disneyland Paris. In addition to other major changes coming to Disneyland Paris, the second theme park will be renamed Disney Adventure World. PrĂŞt pour l’aventure? Let’s dive in.

A Bit of Background

In case you didn’t know, the European Disney park (originally aptly titled “Euro Disney”) consists of two theme parks, Disneyland Park (similar to Disneyland in Anaheim and the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando) and what is currently known as Walt Disney Studios Park.

Walt Disney Studios is an interesting park, and sort of a mishmash of elements from several Disney Word parks, including an entrance themed to Hollywood Studios and animation, a Worlds of Pixar, an Avenger’s Campus, and the first version of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. The park, which opened in 2002, is undergoing major changes impacting Disneyland Paris, including a Frozen-themed land (more on that below).

Out With the Old, in with the New Name: Disney Adventure World

Like the name Euro Disney before it—which was changed to Disneyland Paris in 1994—Walt Disney Studios Park will change to become Disney Adventure World to coincide with the opening of the World of Frozen. With this announcement come two interesting takeaways:

Frozen-Themed Land Gets a New Name

The first takeaway is that the under-construction Frozen land will be called the World of Frozen (the same name as the land that just opened in Hong Kong Disneyland). This may seem inconsequential—and it probably is—but this is actually another name change: as I reported two years ago, the land was previously called The Kingdom of Arendelle. I liked that name and the fact that it was distinguishable from other Frozen lands at the international Disney theme parks (I’ve been tracking all of the land developments in this guide). Maybe Disney thinks it will be easier to remember the names of the Frozen lands across its parks? Time will tell if any Frozen land coming to a U.S. park will follow suit.

Opening Dates for Disney Adventure World and World of Frozen Not Confirmed

The announcement simply says the new Disney Adventure World name will coincide with the opening of the World of Frozen, but that date is not revealed. There are lots of changes going on in the mean time, however, so while we wait for more news let’s go over those developments.

What Else to Expect from Disney Adventure World

World Premiere. A new entrance to what we will become Disney Adventure World opens in spring 2025. The entrance will be themed to “a vibrant, contemporary open-air movie studio” called World Premiere.

World Premiere Plaza. Just outside the new entrance will be a new art Déco-inspired theater district (currently themed to Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios) called World Premiere Plaza.

Adventure Bay. A new lake called Adventure Bay will be the center of the new expansion and will abut the World of Frozen. Adventure Bay will be surrounded by a new promenade—named, of all things,Adventure Way—that, as previously reported, will feature a “lush landscape, green walkways and themed garden” and be a transition to new themed areas surrounding the lake.

Raiponce Tangled Spin. This “Tangled” themed carousel will take guests through the iconic floating lanterns scene.

The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge. This new table-service restaurant with feature character dining that will offer views of Adventure Bay.

My Thoughts

That is a lot of changes coming to Disneyland Paris. And that’s not even including a new show, Alice & The Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland, which debuted on May 25, a new projection show coming to the Worldwide Engineering Brigade in spring 2025, ongoing changes to Disney Village—their version of Disney Springs—and updates to Disney Davy Crockett Ranch bungalows, one of the resorts at Disneyland Paris.

I think these changes are exciting; Walt Disney Studios (I don’t think it’s officially Disney Adventure World yet), appears to be in need of some modernization, and perhaps changes to further cohesion in its theming. I think Disneyland Park is distinct enough to warrant a visit from Disney diehards visiting Europe; I think these changes, especially the World of Frozen and Tangled-inspired experiences, are a step in the right direction to make the second park at Disneyland Paris a must-visit, too.

What are your thoughts? Have you visiter Disneyland Paris?
