Are you a fan of Disney Resorts? Well, you’re in luck, because I decided to start my very own “Resort Series.” And where better to start than Disney’s Yacht Club Resort?

This EPCOT-area resort is highly sought after for its fantastic location and its New England-style vibe. It is considered a Deluxe Resort, meaning it can be pretty pricey. Here are just a few reasons this resort is a must-visit:
Theme Park Proximity: the Yacht Club has unparalleled access to both EPCOT and Hollywood studios—seriously, you can walk to both parks. If you’re a parent to small kids, this is KEY because you can walk back to your resort for nap time.

Food + Fun: Disney’s Yacht Club is next door to Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and the BoardWalk Inn is just across Crescent Lake. Also, it neighbors both Swan and Dolphin Resorts. Basically, you can eat and shop at all of those resorts without getting in a car or bus.

Skyliner Access: Because this resort is in walking distance to EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance—which is next to a Skyliner stop—you can get to Hollywood Studios via the Skyliner, again without needing a car or bus.

Stormalong Bay: Perhaps the best resort pool of all the Disney resort properties, at three acres Stormalong Bay is MASSIVE. It’s also partially themed to a shipwreck, with one of the highest water slides at a Walt Disney World property. There is also a lazy river and two kiddie pools with easy access for little ones. This is very much fun for all ages.

Dog-Friendly. As of this writing, Disney’s Yacht Clubs is one of only four Walt Disney World Resorts that allows pets to join you on your stay. Of course, there is an associated pet fee on top of your hotel stay (and resort and parking fees). If your pet is also a Disney fan, keep this resort in mind.

Final Thoughts: This is one of my favorite on-property resorts. Seriously, sunrise walks are perhaps best spent walking along the BoardWalk with EPCOT as the backdrop. Its location allows you to become fully immersed in the Disney magic, too, which makes certain Disney resorts worth the money.
Things to Consider: Disney recently announced that the BoardWalk Inn is getting major updates starting next year (2023). On top of that, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is opening sometime this summer, which is surely to increase EPCOT’s already-surging crowds. That’s all to say that the Yacht Club is going to remain a desirable resort, so be sure to plan ahead.
