Disneyland Paris Announces Disney Village Expansion

Disneyland Paris is about to get a major upgrade in the form of a bigger, larger Disney Village!

Disneyland Village is a complex of food, shopping, and entertainment, that sits adjacent to both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park–the two parks that makeup Disneyland Paris. Its in walking distance to both parks and the Marne-la-VallĂ©e/Chessy metro station, which takes you straight between Paris and Disneyland Paris.

The transformation, which starts in phases at the end of this year, is to “give the district a brand-new visual identity and introduce exciting new offerings into the mix.”

According to Disney’s announcement, “When the transformation is complete, Disney Village will feature a relaxing lakeside park and boardwalk, enhanced pedestrian walkways, brand-new facades, relaxing terraces and patios, and lush landscaping. Its diverse eateries and collection of shops will expand dining and retail options for guests with innovative concepts from some of the world’s most exciting brands for a completely enhanced experience complementing the theme parks

In a specific example of what is to come, a French brasserie called Rosalie is to replace the Cafe Mickey restaurant in 2023. This is intended to elevate the culinary experience at Disney Village. The restaurant will consist of two-floors, have 500 sets, and will overlook Lake Disney. The restaurant will feature table service options, a counter for takeaway for French-inspired takeaway options such as pastries, sandwiches, salads, and more! According to Laure Albouy, Vice President Business Strategy & Integration, Disneyland Paris, “We believe this unique, family-friendly restaurant will elevate the guest experience at our resort by offering famous French specialties in a unique setting, and we can’t wait to make this new partnership a reality.”

This is the latest in a string of major developments for this resort (like the opening of Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel) as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. As a huge fan of Disneyland Paris–the first International Disney park I visited, I am happy to see the momentum of the park’s development, and I am excited to see what’s next!
